The Religion Teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Teacher provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth toward a successful future. The teacher has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal. The Social Studies Teacher is expected to be dedicated, organized, enthusiastic and high energy professionals who are mission driven. Teachers should provide engaging coursework and be able to cater to diverse student needs. Successful candidates will have creativity and willingness to teach a variety of topics in the area of social studies. The middle school social studies teacher should have superb classroom management skills and a firm understand of how to engage students. A teacher should have the passion and energy to be able to inspire passion and energy from their students. A successful teacher can incorporate technology and different avenues of learning to keep the material fresh and interesting.
