About The Position

Holy Redeemer Catholic School, part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation, is seeking a faith-filled and dedicated Middle School Religion and Social Studies Teacher. This role involves educating and inspiring students academically, spiritually, and morally. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction aligned with Catholic teachings, diocesan curriculum standards, and best educational practices, while fostering a classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of the Catholic Church. The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation has a rich 200-year history and serves over 50,000 students (PreK-12) across an 11-county area, providing an educational experience rooted in a higher calling from God.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, History, Social Studies, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine and willingness to teach and model the faith
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a faith‑based educational environment

Nice To Haves

  • Valid state teaching certification or eligibility preferred
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred
  • Experience teaching middle school students preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teach Middle School Religion and Social Studies courses using diocesan and school‑approved curricula
  • Integrate Catholic faith and Gospel values across instruction and daily interactions
  • Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned to curriculum standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate grades and records
  • Foster a respectful, structured, and Christ‑centered classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support student success
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding student progress and expectations
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, retreats, and school events
  • Support school‑wide initiatives, Catholic identity, and stewardship of the school community
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment consistent with school and diocesan policies
