About The Position

This is a supplemental position for a Middle School Sports Coordinator. The role involves coordinating schedules and logistics for various middle school sports, including cross country, basketball, and track, across 9 middle and K-8 schools. The coordinator will ensure schools participate in a minimum number of events, secure facilities, create competition brackets, and manage travel arrangements. The position also requires collecting practice schedules, communicating with high school athletic personnel, and collaborating with the middle school director on sports-related matters. Other duties as assigned by the Middle School Director may be required. Applicants must meet specific certification and employment requirements within the Santa Rosa County District School System.

Requirements

Must hold a current Florida Educator Certificate OR Hold an Athletic Coaching Certificate.
Must be a current Instructional or Educational Support Employee with Santa Rosa County District School System.

Applicants recommended for district positions will be subject to drug testing and background fingerprinting per statutory requirements and School Board Policy.

Responsibilities

Coordinating the schedules for all 9 middle and K-8 schools cross country meets.
Ensuring all schools are scheduled and competing in at least 2 cross country meets during the fall season.
Coordinating the schedules for all 9 middle and K-8 schools 3 on 3 basketball tournaments.
Ensuring there is a high school gym available for the tournament and creating a bracket for competition.
Coordinating the schedules for all 9 middle and K-8 schools track meets.
Ensuring entry and travel arrangements for competing in the Frank Lay and/or the Andrews invitational track meets.
If the need arises, coordinating a track meet at a middle school for regional middle school track meets.
Collecting practice schedules for all three sports from each coach.
Communicating with high school coaches and/or athletic directors regarding facilities use on high school campuses.
Collaboration with middle school director regarding all middle school sports business.
Other duties as assigned by Middle School Director.
