Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,500 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 160 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach. A Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall logistics of the after-school program at a site. Site Coordinators serve as the liaison of the program’s needs and information to parents, community members, school administration, and staff. Site Coordinators inspire and coordinate daily after-school program schedules while ensuring a safe, fun, and positive environment for participants and staff. They oversee the daily program’s operations and ensure that all staff are equipped and ready to run a successful after-school program. They supervise assistant site coordinators, community liaisons, and club leaders who will supervise 10-20 participants daily. They also manage staff schedules and daily enrichment offerings. The Site Coordinator position is an on-site position, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and school sites. The role involves ensuring students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally), promoting an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment, leading and coaching the on-site team, effectively implementing site protocols and safety regulations, communicating with facilities management, collecting and reviewing activity plans, coordinating end of week themes activities, program mingle, and end of summer culmination, coordinating field trips, maintaining and submitting student attendance daily, ensuring activities meet participants' needs, overseeing staff schedules and ADP, and participating in staff development trainings.

Requirements

  • FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance
  • TB Test clearance
  • First Aid & CPR Certification (provided by WR)
  • 1+ years’ experience supervising a group of children in a school or recreational setting.
  • 1+ years’ experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school or recreational setting.
  • Work well with young children and/or youth.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Computer literacy and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use smart phone for work related business (WR provides Wi-Fi/cell stipend)
  • Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
  • For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion.

Nice To Haves

  • AA Degree in Child Development or a related field is preferred. 12 units of Child Development or similar.

  • Lead and coach the on-site team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and provides positive customer service.
  • Promote professional growth and development for all team members.
  • Effectively implement site protocols, safety regulations, WR procedures and policies and provides any necessary training or coaching to on-site teams.
  • Communicate with facilities management to ensure access to required facilities during program hours.
  • Collect and review activity plans and program material list from Club Leaders to develop spending plan within a given budget.
  • Proactively coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure all staff have access to required materials in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate end of week themes activities, program mingle, and end of summer culmination.
  • Coordinate field trips with field trip coordinator, communicates with parents/guardians and trip details and requirements.
  • Attend a field trip and serve as the lead WR Team Member for the day.
  • Maintain and submit student attendance daily.
  • Ensure activities meet the needs and abilities of participants’ age and skill level.
  • Oversee staff schedules, ADP including approving timesheets and sick time, and coordinates sub/floater fill in as needed.
  • Participate in staff development trainings as required/as scheduled.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
