About The Position

Derby Academy, a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 co-educational day school located in Hingham, Massachusetts, seeks a Middle School Long Term Substitute Spanish teacher beginning in January, 2027 lasting until mid-June. Rooted in the school’s motto, “ Improve Both Mind and Heart ,” Derby’s Middle School provides students with a joyful and rigorous academic environment. The Spanish teacher will teach Spanish classes, which will range from grades 5-8. The Spanish teacher will also work with department and grade-level colleagues to deliver language instruction and may additionally serve as an advisor, leader of a club, or a coach. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish or education with a focus on Spanish.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with middle school students.

Nice To Haves

  • At least a year of previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Massachusetts teacher certification is not required.

Responsibilities
