This position plans and provides instruction to students based on state, District, and school curricula and requirements, and based on the students’ social and other formative needs. The role involves creating developmentally and linguistically appropriate and challenging learning experiences, developing lessons that are accessible and culturally relevant, and incorporating disciplinary-specific literacy skills. The teacher will establish a positive learning climate, utilize positive classroom management strategies, and base instruction on accurate content knowledge using multiple representations and appropriate academic language. The position also requires supporting and expanding English language development, using technology to support learning, monitoring student learning through various assessment methods, and collaborating with families, colleagues, and the community. Compliance with federal and state laws, district policies, and educator standards is essential. The role requires regular attendance, professional workplace etiquette, effective communication with diverse groups, adaptability, and the ability to cope with stressful situations while maintaining confidentiality. Other related duties as assigned are also part of the responsibilities.
