About The Position

This position is for a Social Studies Teacher at Central Middle School, responsible for grades 6/7. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement and lifelong skills. The teacher will instruct and monitor students, utilize learning materials, and demonstrate proficiency with technology. Collaboration, flexibility, and innovation in curriculum design and execution are essential. The teacher will also observe and evaluate student progress, assign and grade work, and act as a professional role model.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate with Social Studies Endorsement.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.

Nice To Haves

Grade level experience preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.

Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
