We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher for grades 6th-8th to join our team.

Requirements

B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
1-2 years of classroom experience, preferably in urban education.
Valid and active Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.
Ability to provide a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34).
Ability to provide a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151).
Ability to provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114).
Ability to provide a Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168).
Demonstrated skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and a variety of individualized needs.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for middle school students.
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and educational goals.
Create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and participation.
Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional methods.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school administrators.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
Execute school-wide duties in accordance with school rules and procedures (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway).
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
