About The Position

Oakland International Academy is hiring for the 2026–2027 school year. The role involves teaching core subjects to middle school students, with a focus on helping students from diverse backgrounds, including English language learners, build the skills and confidence for college and beyond. The position is onsite in Detroit, Michigan, following the school calendar, with 181 instructional days. Education Management & Networks, Inc. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Integrated Science (DI) 6-12 Endorsement, or actively pursuing certification through an approved pathway
Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and commitment to growth
Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and families

Nice To Haves

Experience with Google Classroom, SMART Boards, or similar classroom tech
Experience teaching multilingual learners or English language learners
A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Integrated Science (DI) 6-12 Endorsement is preferred.

Responsibilities
