About The Position

This position is for a Middle School Science Teacher at Central Middle School. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement. The teacher will instruct students on the use of learning materials, monitor student progress, and provide feedback on assignments. This role requires flexibility, innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a school setting. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining professional conduct and representing the School District positively.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching certificate
  • Middle School Science endorsement preferred.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
  • Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
  • Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
  • Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
  • Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Work in a collaborative environment and be willing to learn new skills or revamp their curriculum.
  • Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, that are responsive to the needs of students and the context in which learning is taking place.
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
  • Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
