About The Position

BASIS Flagstaff is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join its team. The role focuses on 6th Grade Biology and 5th Grade Physical Science, with the ability to teach Anatomy and Physiology preferred. The Science Teacher (SET) supports students’ day-to-day education by preparing and facilitating subject-specific lessons. Subject Expert Teachers implement the established BASIS Curriculum and tailor topics using their subject knowledge and passion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the subject matter, or 24 or more credit hours in the applicable subject matter with another degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to teach Anatomy and Physiology.
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in subject matter or education.
• Two or more years of teaching or education experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject- and grade-specific lesson plans.
• Provide subject instruction above grade-standard in an interactive learning environment to achieve exceptional results for students.
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum by designing effective, creative lessons and assessments that support internationally competitive education.
• Collaborate with other BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum and subject material and build a community of education professionals.
• Tutor students in subject-specific knowledge and skills to support their academic and career success.
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, individuality, and respect.
• Support non-instructional functions, such as “Early Bird,” “Late Bird,” and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.
• Supervise individual students and/or groups of students.
