About The Position

Immacolata Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Full-Time Middle School Science Teacher to join their faculty for the upcoming school year. The teacher will provide rigorous, developmentally appropriate science instruction to students in grades 6-8 while supporting the Catholic identity and educational mission of the Academy. The ideal candidate fosters a learning environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and academic excellence, and collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or related field
  • Current state teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and values.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience teaching middle school science preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred (depending on school requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with school curriculum and standards (e.g., NGSS or diocesan guidelines).
  • Teach a range of middle school science topics such as life science, physical science, earth and space science, and scientific inquiry.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Incorporate hands-on experiments, labs, and project-based learning.
  • Assess student understanding through tests, quizzes, projects, lab activities, and formative assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
  • Create a respectful, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into lessons and classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and school initiatives.
  • Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, and professional development.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development.
