About The Position

The Leadership School is seeking hardworking, results-oriented educators for its 5th and 6th grade Science Teacher positions. The school is the first public charter school in St. Louis County, focused on providing educational choice and opportunity. The mission is to grow students' leadership capacity through an academically rigorous, culturally relevant, and relationship-oriented environment. Teachers are supported with dedicated time for planning, collaboration, coaching, development, feedback, and family communication. Approximately 60% of a teacher's time is student-facing, with 40% dedicated to planning, training, collaboration, and family communication.

Responsibilities

  • Internalize and own provided curricula to deliver high-quality science instruction every single day
  • Prepare supplemental resources that lead students to a deep understanding of content
  • Inspire high levels of motivation & investment in behavioral & academic expectations by maintaining clear and consistent expectations
  • Analyze data, adjust lesson plans & instructional methods based on data, & create a long-term plan for unfinished learning
  • Communicate clearly & often with families to ensure alignment between school & home expectations
  • Implement school-wide and classroom routines and procedures with fidelity to ensure a healthy learning environment
