About The Position

Calvary Chapel Schools (CCS) was established to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. CCS is a ministry of CCCM, building up Christian leaders in mind, body, and soul through Biblical truth, character development, and strong academic pursuits, enabling students to serve and enjoy Christ and their community. As a Calvary Chapel Middle School Science teacher, you would be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a robust instructional program that would guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential. The ideal candidate will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. They will be a minister of the Gospel in this position by ministering and praying for and with the students and parents as well as being an example to the staff, students, and parents.

Requirements

B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching
California State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school.

Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials to facilitate active learning at a high standard of excellence.
Establish and communicate clear objectives to meet the needs of all learners.
Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures, providing appropriate feedback on work.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
Actively collaborates with colleagues in the capacity of a professional educator in our learning community, contributing to the culture through assigned duties, like committee membership, and co-curricular program involvement.
Participate in department, school and parent meetings.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Prepare classroom for class activities.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
