About The Position

Livingston Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher for a leave replacement position at Heritage Middle School, beginning November 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The ideal candidate will hold a valid New Jersey Middle School Science or High School Science certification appropriate for the assignment. They should demonstrate strong knowledge of science content and effective instructional practices for middle school students, and create an engaging, student-centered learning environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. The role involves developing and implementing standards-aligned science instruction that supports diverse learners, collaborating effectively with colleagues, students, and families, and utilizing formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth. Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills are essential.

Requirements

Hold a valid New Jersey Middle School Science or High School Science certification appropriate for the assignment.
Demonstrate a strong knowledge of science content and effective instructional practices appropriate for middle school students.
Demonstrate strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
Appropriate New Jersey teaching certification in Middle School Science or High School Science.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to providing high-quality, engaging science instruction.

Experience with OpenSciEd is a plus.
