About The Position

Monte Cassino School, a Catholic, Benedictine, independent, co-educational school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serving students from Grades PK3–8, seeks a dynamic, innovative, and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher with a strong STEM focus to begin in the 2026–2027 school year. This position requires a collaborative teacher who understands the developmental needs of early adolescents and is committed to inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of scientific inquiry. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging, hands-on science instruction that challenges students to think deeply, ask meaningful questions, and connect scientific concepts to the world around them. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, STEM education, or a related field required.
  • Experience teaching middle school science, with demonstrated success in STEM integration.
  • Strong content knowledge across scientific disciplines and familiarity with inquiry-based and project-based learning approaches.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic, Benedictine educational environment.
  • Ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to move about campus throughout the day, including climbing stairs.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic, fast-paced school environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions as needed for school duties.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Seventh Grade Science, an introductory Life Science curriculum emphasizing foundational biological concepts and leading scientific investigations utilizing the scientific method.
  • Teach Eighth Grade Science, a Physical Science curriculum and leading a laboratory-focused course emphasizing physical science and introductory chemistry principles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine and strengthen the science program and incorporate inquiry-based learning and real-world applications.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor who supports students’ academic progress and personal growth.
  • Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, innovation, and a growth mindset.
  • Design and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science curriculum with an emphasis on STEM integration, inquiry, and project-based learning.
  • Facilitate hands-on lab investigations, engineering challenges, and design-thinking experiences that promote problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Integrate technology meaningfully into instruction, including digital tools, data analysis, and emerging STEM applications.
  • Encourage students to think critically, ask questions, analyze data, and communicate scientific understanding effectively.
  • Develop interdisciplinary connections, collaborating with faculty to integrate STEM across subject areas.
  • Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods, providing timely and actionable feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and provide enrichment opportunities for advanced exploration.
  • Lead or support STEM-related initiatives such as science fairs, robotics, coding opportunities, or innovation challenges.
  • Maintain clear communication with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
  • Actively participate in the life of the middle school, including advisory, student activities, and community events.
  • Support supervision duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
