Global Leadership Academy Charter School (GLA) is seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6-8. Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in the field of education.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, leadership, collaboration, and independent thinking.
Strong people skills and emotional intelligence when dealing with students, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrated understanding of and investment in the School.

Nice To Haves

Current teaching license (Grades 4-8 Social Studies/Science) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design rigorous, PA Core standards-aligned lessons for Global Studies and Science.
Plan class activities, including preparing units and daily lesson plans.
Identify and prepare necessary materials for class activities.
Prepare class projects.
Provide children with feedback on completed work to ensure mastery of presented material.
Grade tests and assignments in a timely manner.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Maintain positive relationships with scholars, parents, coworkers, and supervisors.
Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Work with scholars in both small and large groups.
Track and evaluate student academic progress.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Identify the educational needs of scholars and alter instruction to meet student needs.
Communicate with parents regularly about schedule, assignments, events, and individual scholar needs.
Meet with parents during scheduled conferences.
Perform other duties as assigned by CEO, Principal, or Academy Leader.
