About The Position

Global Leadership Academy Charter School (GLA) is seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6-8. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in the field of education.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, leadership, collaboration, and independent thinking.
  • Strong people skills and emotional intelligence when dealing with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and investment in the School.

Nice To Haves

  • Current teaching license (Grades 4-8 Social Studies/Science) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design rigorous, PA Core standards-aligned lessons for Global Studies and Science.
  • Plan class activities, including preparing units and daily lesson plans.
  • Identify and prepare necessary materials for class activities.
  • Prepare class projects.
  • Provide children with feedback on completed work to ensure mastery of presented material.
  • Grade tests and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with scholars, parents, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work with scholars in both small and large groups.
  • Track and evaluate student academic progress.
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
  • Identify the educational needs of scholars and alter instruction to meet student needs.
  • Communicate with parents regularly about schedule, assignments, events, and individual scholar needs.
  • Meet with parents during scheduled conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by CEO, Principal, or Academy Leader.
