About The Position

This position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Student Development and provides administrative support for the division. The role involves providing general administrative support for the principal, director of student development, and administrative assistant. The receptionist will receive visitors to the middle school office, assist with information for teachers and students, welcome visitors and parents to the building, and be responsible for daily attendance tracking. Other duties may be assigned by the director of student development. The role also includes supporting the school's broader program by attending extracurricular activities, treating school-owned technology with respect, modeling Christian living, helping students resolve conflict biblically, and praying for the school community. Additionally, the receptionist will assist with attendance tracking, student sign-in/sign-out, and daily records, support administrative staff with clerical tasks, manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and school communications, adhere to school policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, attend meetings, and represent the school professionally. The role also involves providing basic assistance to students, communicating courteously with parents, supporting school event coordination, assisting with minor student health needs, and following safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or related education preparation
  • Experience as a receptionist
  • A strong, clear Christian testimony (Ephesians 4:1)
  • A lifestyle of biblical integrity (1 Peter 3:16)
  • Believe and actively support the OCS Parent Covenant, Statement of Faith, Statement on Marriage and Sexuality, Statement on Diversity and Core Values (all attached)
  • Have a conviction that God has called him/her to Christian School teaching (Romans 12:7)
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (1 Peter 5:2)
  • Maintain high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in all personal and professional matters
  • Actively involved in church (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Encourages students to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith (Matthew 18:15-17)

Responsibilities

  • Provides general administrative support for the principal, director of student development and administrative assistant

  • Support administrative assistant, middle school staff with clerical tasks such as needed with helping the middle school run effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and school communications
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures governing the operation of the school
  • Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staff
  • Attends and arrives punctually to scheduled devotional, committee, and faculty meetings
  • Maintains professional dress and appearance as specified in the Employee Handbook
  • Represents the school favorably and professionally to its constituency
  • Provide basic assistance to students (e.g., calling parents, relaying messages)
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with parents regarding school policies and procedures
  • Support coordination of school events, meetings, and appointments
  • Assist with minor student health needs and coordinate with the elementary school nurse when needed
  • Follow safety protocols for emergencies and visitor access
