Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
  • Experience teaching physical education at the middle school level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students

  • Commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree

  • Strong knowledge of and experience in teaching in the IB MYP curriculum framework

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an engaging physical education curriculum for middle school students.
  • Incorporate a variety of activities and games to enhance students' motor skills, coordination, and fitness levels.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Cultivate a caring environment that supports the academic progress and socio-emotional development of each student.
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of students during physical education classes and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education concepts across the curriculum in a manner that facilitates the transition to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum framework.
  • Share responsibilities for curriculum development as well as other departmental and divisional priorities, including national and international student trips.
  • Proactively communicate with students, parents, and administration about student progress or concerns.
  • Serve as a student advisor.
