About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is seeking a Middle School PE Teacher for the 26/27 school year. RMP is a network of college-preparatory schools dedicated to changing public education in Colorado by providing equitable access to higher education for historically marginalized students and families. RMP operates twelve schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade and is committed to being a world-class learning organization that invests in its educators. Teachers receive ongoing coaching and professional development, with clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities for career advancement aligned with RMP's PEAK values. The organization fosters a culture of rigor and love, aiming to coach, develop, and champion every team member to perform at their best and grow professionally and personally. The RMP approach to Physical Education views it as a foundation for whole-child development, emphasizing physical wellness, teamwork, and resilience as crucial for academic and life success. PE teachers are responsible for designing standards-aligned curricula and authentic performance tasks that require students to demonstrate mastery through real-world application, such as leading team challenges, setting fitness goals, and collaborating on movement-based problems. These tasks are designed to be rigorous, collaborative, and reflective, encouraging students to analyze their progress, respond to feedback, and celebrate achievements in strength, skill, and sportsmanship. The goal is to create developmentally appropriate experiences that build confidence, promote social-emotional learning, and instill lifelong fitness habits.
