About The Position

Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Academy is seeking a middle school math teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This teacher would be the 7th grade Homeroom teacher in addition to teaching Math in 5th-8th grades. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechist, (teachers of religion), must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools. Every teacher is a member of the professional staff with responsibilities in the areas of: instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student/parent relations, faith life, and community relations. Candidates should possess the following skills and classroom practices: Modeling and facilitating daily prayer in the classroom along with active participation/planning of school liturgies and prayer services Establishment of a classroom environment that develops the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of all children Integrates technology as a tool for learning and instruction Effective verbal and written communication skills A willingness for collaboration Management of a safe and nurturing environment Development of relationships with parents to encourage communication regarding their child's growth and development Develop lesson plans to promote spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional growth Completion of Protecting God’s Children training, Fingerprinting and Background Check Must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools, or working towards certification The Archdiocese of Detroit is an equal opportunity employer that does not illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, height, weight, genetic information, marital or other legally protected status.

Requirements
