About The Position

Great River Connections Academy (GRCA) is seeking a Middle School Math Interventionist for the 2026-2027 school year. This role, based in Columbus, OH, or remotely within the state, will focus on supporting students in grades 6-8 within GRCA's Response to Intervention Model. The interventionist will collaborate with students, parents, instructional staff, and administration to enhance student learning in mathematics.

Requirements

Appropriately certified in K-5 Math, or Elementary in Ohio (appropriate to grade level responsibilities)
Strong multi-cultural skills
Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS, MS Office programs, and Google Suite)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Customer focused approach
High degree of flexibility
Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Team player track record
Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
Ability to work remotely.
Two-step authentication is required to access all systems and may require the use of a personal device.

Responsibilities

Analyze student learning data on an ongoing and consistent basis.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to select students needing tiered math instruction support based on data.
Provide diagnostic, prescriptive, and evaluative services for identified students.
Provide individual and small group instruction for identified students.
Assist with the administration of state math tests and other required state exams.
Confer with instructional staff on student math needs and suggest effective interventions, strategies, and discrete skill instruction.
Act as a resource teacher in math to regular classroom teachers, assisting with program organization, material selection, and teaching techniques to address special student needs.
Model effective math instruction to classroom teachers.
Provide math resources for teachers and parents.
Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to lessons to increase student understanding, working directly with students and parents to implement these.
Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers to develop and update Math Improvement Plans.
Collaborate with other teachers to ensure student program progression, provide a central point of contact for parents, and distribute tasks among teachers.
Keep student records and data up-to-date, including online student and family information, and logging all student and parent contacts.
Develop and implement virtual methods for creating and maintaining a 'school community'.
Perform other duties as assigned.
