About The Position

Moravian Academy is seeking a Middle School Inquiry, Research & Innovation Teacher to lead sixth, seventh, and eighth-graders in a future-focused educational environment. This role involves guiding students in navigating artificial intelligence, evaluating information, tackling community challenges, and presenting their findings. The teacher will design and lead the S.C.O.R.E. capstone program, fostering student curiosity from initial ideas to public presentations. This position also requires collaboration with faculty across disciplines to promote an inquiry-centered culture. The role is a strategic appointment focused on future-ready education, aiming to help students develop critical thinking about technology, ask better questions, and cultivate leadership habits. The teacher will join a faculty community dedicated to personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Library Science, Humanities, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching middle school students through inquiry-based, project-based, or interdisciplinary learning approaches.
  • Knowledge of information literacy frameworks, digital citizenship, and responsible technology integration.
  • Confidence teaching the ethical implications of AI and emerging digital technologies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (M.Ed., M.L.I.S., M.A., or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience leading student capstone, service-learning, or community impact programs preferred.
  • Independent school or mission-driven school experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the S.C.O.R.E. middle school capstone program.
