About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a Middle School/High School Art Teacher for its Great Hearts Irving Upper School. Great Hearts is a network of public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools serving K–12 students. Fine arts are part of the core curriculum, and studio art includes instruction in technique and imitation of masterworks, art history, and appreciation. The teacher will use the Great Hearts curriculum and materials to teach assigned classes and cultivate a thoughtful, orderly, and joyful classroom.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher is required for a lead teaching role.
• U.S. work authorization is required.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials; prepare thoughtful lessons and cultivate an orderly, joyful classroom.
• Provide appropriate academic support, monitor student progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs promptly.
• Uphold and model Great Hearts’ culture, policies, and expectations, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiate conferences as needed, and foster home-school partnerships.
• Participate in faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and ongoing professional growth.
