About The Position
Silver Lake Regional Middle School is in search of a head coach to lead the training and management of the middle school cross-country program. This role involves teaching the skills and strategies of cross-country to student-athletes in grades 7-8, acting as a role model, and managing all aspects of the program including practice, game day coaching, conditioning, supervision, and equipment maintenance. The coach will also determine awards, identify team needs for the athletic department, and communicate with families.
Requirements
- Experience coaching cross country
- Experience working with middle school students
Nice To Haves
- Previous middle school coaching experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach the skills and strategies of cross-country to student-athletes in grade 7-8.
- Be a role-model and teacher of cross-country, including; practice, game day coaching, conditioning of athletes, supervision of athletes, maintenance of practice facility and equipment.
- Determine awards for students and provide the athletic department with a list of team needs.
- Communicate regularly with families as needed.
