Middle School Girls Soccer Coach
About The Position
Second Baptist School is seeking a Middle School Girls Soccer Coach. The Department of Athletics aims to provide an environment of competition, cooperation, and teamwork that glorifies God and offers valuable life lessons, emphasizing lessons learned over winning. A coach at Second Baptist School is expected to plan, organize, and implement an athletic program that guides and encourages students to develop their potential as athletes and outstanding citizens. The school offers a variety of teams, and coaches encourage students to try out for all sports. This coaching role is supervised by the Middle School Director of Athletics. The Middle School Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, communication, and fostering program culture. The coach is expected to model Christ-centered leadership while maintaining a competitive and positive team environment.
Requirements
- Have a personal and passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model to our students
- Be a dedicated and loyal team member supporting all school-level activities and school-wide initiatives
- Possess a strong desire to coach and develop all athletes
- Have competency in playing/coaching soccer
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Have prior experience in coaching and/or significant playing experience
- Understand and embrace Christian education; have a biblical perspective on athletics and competition
- Be personable, energetic and approachable
- Be committed to professional growth
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Be proficient in technology

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and implement an appropriate athletic program
- Guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their potential as an athlete, but more importantly, as an outstanding citizen
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the middle school girls soccer program with professionalism and integrity
- Carry out the policies and procedures of the SBS athletic handbook
- Assume responsibilities assigned by the school and the Middle School Director of Athletics
- Be a responsible steward of the school’s resources
- Mentor student athletes in their Christian faith, athletic skills and life skills
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Collaborate with colleagues
