About The Position

Cole Valley Christian Schools is seeking a Christ-following, dynamic, and gifted individual to join their staff as the Middle School Head Girls Basketball Coach. Athletics is a key part of the school's vision to develop the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ, and this role is seen as an opportunity to teach spiritual truths through sports. The coach will demonstrate strong leadership, sportsmanship, player development skills, and a heart for discipleship.

Requirements

Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
Spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
Minimum 4 years of experience playing or coaching.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and mentor student athletes.
CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture.
Accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Cole Valley Christian Schools.
Have a history of faithfully attending and financially supporting a Bible believing church.
Have a verifiable history of living and modeling Christian character in employee's personal and professional life.
Willing to submit to the authority of those who have oversight of the school.
Fully cooperate with these authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board in both letter and intent.
Strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love, and nurture the students entrusted to employee for instruction, supervision, and/or oversight.
Must provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.

Previous youth discipleship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct safe, effective, and age-appropriate practices.
Teach fundamental running techniques, conditioning, pacing, and race strategies.
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, transportation, and team activities.
Ensure compliance with school, district, and league policies and procedures.
Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, athletic administration, and school staff.
Organize meet entries, practice schedules, and team logistics.
Monitor athlete eligibility, attendance, and academic expectations.
Build relationships and invest in the lives of the students, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ.
Collaborate with Athletic Director in ensuring transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met.
