Educators in the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) are responsible for ensuring that students have access to strong instruction, experience a deep sense of belonging in school, and are prepared for meaningful academic and life opportunities. SEZP educators serve as instructors, mentors, and collaborators. They contribute to school communities that value strong relationships, clear expectations, and continuous improvement—for students and for adults. The role involves delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, ensuring all students can access grade-level content, and using student data to adjust instruction. Educators are expected to build strong, trusting relationships with students, contribute positively to school culture, and engage families as partners. They also support students in developing skills for success beyond school and participate actively in professional learning and feedback cycles. Additionally, educators may contribute to the development of future educators by modeling strong practice and hosting residents or student teachers. The position requires upholding school-wide expectations and performing other duties as assigned by the Principal.
