About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking passionate, life-long learners to join their growing network of classical schools. The Middle School Literature and Composition courses focus on grammatical structures, literary devices, the art of argument, and discussing literature and poetry to explore the human experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's (or higher) degree is required for a lead teaching role
• Candidates must pass TxDPS background clearance.
• All majors are welcome to apply!
• US work authorization is required.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

• Certification is not required for general education roles.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
