Middle School Elective Teacher Part-Time (.50 FTE)
About The Position
Union Middle School is seeking a passionate, creative, and adaptable educator to join our team as a 50% Elective Teacher (3 periods daily). We recognize that the best classes are taught by educators who are deeply passionate about their subject matter. Therefore, the specific content of this elective will be tailored to the unique background, credentialing, and expertise of the successful candidate. We are looking for someone who can make content relevant and fun for middle schoolers. While the final course design will be collaborative based on your background and teaching credential(s), examples of the types of electives we envision include (but are not limited to): Creative Writing, Journalism / School Newspaper, Writer’s Workshop, Film & Literature. Requirements
- Passion for subject matter.
- Creativity and adaptability.
- Ability to make content relevant and fun for middle schoolers.
- Teaching credential(s) relevant to elective subject.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in Creative Writing, Journalism/School Newspaper, Writer's Workshop, or Film & Literature.
- Ability to propose and teach other elective subjects based on unique background and credentialing.
