iCademy Global is a tuition-free, K-12 virtual school headquartered in West Michigan. We know that a great education doesn't have to take place in a traditional classroom. It's about personalized attention between teachers and students, parents and teachers, and students and their peers. When students, families, and staff work together as a community, students gain the tools they need to reach their goals. iCademy teachers build strong relationships with students through regular live instruction, personalized feedback, and consistent communication with families in a highly collaborative virtual environment. We are seeking a Middle School ELA Teacher to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a primarily virtual environment with limited on-site expectations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements appropriate for middle school English Language Arts, or ability to obtain
Experience teaching middle school students
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Comfort using technology and virtual learning platforms
Michigan Teaching Certification required

Nice To Haves

Experience in a virtual or blended learning environment
Familiarity with Michigan Academic Standards
Experience working with diverse student populations

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality instruction in English Language Arts aligned to Michigan Academic Standards
Plan and facilitate live and asynchronous lessons that promote student engagement, critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing development, and ownership of learning
Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and varying academic needs
Build strong relationships with students and families to support academic and social-emotional growth
Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and required documentation
Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, expectations, and supports
Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, and support staff
Participate in meetings, professional learning, and required school events
Uphold iCademy Global policies, procedures, and expectations
