About The Position

Central Middle School is seeking a qualified Teacher for ELA 7/8. This position requires a valid Michigan Teaching certificate and a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, with a Master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate must be Highly Qualified in their endorsement area, meet all certification and endorsement requirements, and be proficient in technology use. The role involves planning and delivering engaging instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement. The teacher will instruct students on the use of learning materials, demonstrate confidence with technology, and serve as a role model for lifelong learning and professional behavior. Collaboration, flexibility, resourcefulness, and innovation are key, as is the ability to design and execute responsive learning experiences. The teacher will observe and evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and assume other responsibilities as assigned by their supervising administrator. Professional conduct and a positive public image of the School District are expected.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching certificate.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
  • Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
  • Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
  • Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
  • Be proficient in the use of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills.
  • Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.

  • Work in a collaborative environment and be willing to learn new skills or revamp their curriculum.
  • Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, that are very responsive to the needs of students and the context in which learning is taking place.
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
  • Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
