About The Position

Torah Academy is seeking a dedicated, creative, and warm middle school humanities teacher for their boys division. This role is ideal for a current graduate student in education, someone interested in exploring becoming a teacher, or a recently retired teacher. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, implementing lesson plans for ELA and/or Social Studies aligned with Massachusetts state standards, and monitoring and communicating student progress to students and families.

Requirements

  • Prior successful experience with middle school students.
  • Background in English Language Arts and/or History.
  • A strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction.
  • Passionate about educating children.
  • Creative and think outside the box when it comes to challenging young minds.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with grade level secular academic expectations is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, caring, and safe environment by building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.
  • Create and implement lesson plans for ELA and/or Social Studies for middle school boys, engaging student interest and building critical reading, writing, and research skills.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress, providing feedback on academic, social, and behavioral progress, maintaining appropriate records, and creating two-way communication channels with families.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.
