About The Position

Torah Academy is seeking a dedicated, creative, and warm middle school humanities teacher for their boys division. This role is ideal for a current graduate student in education, someone interested in exploring becoming a teacher, or a recently retired teacher. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, implementing lesson plans for ELA and/or Social Studies aligned with Massachusetts state standards, and monitoring and communicating student progress to students and families.

Requirements

Prior successful experience with middle school students.
Background in English Language Arts and/or History.
A strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction.
Passionate about educating children.
Creative and think outside the box when it comes to challenging young minds.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with grade level secular academic expectations is a big plus.

Responsibilities

Create a warm, caring, and safe environment by building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.
Create and implement lesson plans for ELA and/or Social Studies for middle school boys, engaging student interest and building critical reading, writing, and research skills.
Monitor and communicate student progress, providing feedback on academic, social, and behavioral progress, maintaining appropriate records, and creating two-way communication channels with families.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.
