About The Position

Braham Area Schools is seeking a compassionate, student-centered professional to serve as a 0.5 FTE Middle School Counselor or School Social Worker. This role focuses on supporting middle school students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and career development.

Requirements

Valid Minnesota School Counselor License or Minnesota School Social Worker License.
Experience working with middle school students preferred.
Knowledge of social-emotional learning, mental health supports, and behavior intervention strategies.
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
Knowledge of MTSS, Section 504, and special education processes preferred.
Commitment to creating a welcoming, equitable, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and small-group counseling services to middle school students.
Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and career development.
Teach and reinforce positive coping skills, conflict resolution, and healthy relationship skills.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to address student needs.
Participate in problem-solving teams, intervention meetings, and student support planning.
Assist in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
Monitor student attendance and implement interventions to improve attendance and engagement.
Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
