About The Position
Francis W. Parker School is seeking applicants to fill coaching positions for the Fall 2026 season. The specific position advertised is Boys Soccer - Assistant Coach. The role involves regular season practice and/or competition times between 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with some Saturdays and Sundays required. The season runs from August 10, 2026, with the possibility of competition through November 30, 2026. The school emphasizes cultivating a community that respects diversity and provides an environment for exceptional child-centered learning.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with high school-aged student-athletes as well as parents and Athletic Department Administration
- CPR/AED Certification
Nice To Haves
- Coaching experience at the high school level
- Experience/familiarity with IHSA and ISL rules
- Commitment to youth sports
- ISBE or ASEP/NFHS certification
Responsibilities
- Create a team environment of respect and rapport in both coach-athlete and athlete-athlete interaction
- Engage all athletes in learning through individual activities, group and team instruction
- Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting practices, responding to athletes' needs and areas of concern
- Maintain accurate program records of awards, wins/losses, and statistics
- Assist in scheduling non-conference matches and tournaments
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills with student-athletes and assistant coaches
Benefits
- Compensation is paid on a bi-monthly basis for all required coaching duties performed Monday through Sunday.
