About The Position

Anticipated vacancy for a Middle School (LH) Chorus Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves planning and conducting choral rehearsals outside of regular instructional hours, instructing students in music theory, sight-reading, and choral discipline, and organizing and directing public choral performances and school assemblies. The teacher will collaborate with administrators on scheduling, venue, and logistics, and oversee stage setup, accompanist, and technical needs. Responsibilities also include managing the sheet music library and equipment.

Requirements

• All required clearances, physical and TB test, and District requirements must be completed before employment.
• Strong background in choral conducting.
• Strong background in piano accompaniment.
• Classroom management skills tailored to middle school-aged students.
• Communication skills tailored to middle school-aged students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct regular choral rehearsals outside of regular instructional hours (before or after school).
• Instruct students in basic music theory, sight-reading, and choral discipline.
• Organize and direct scheduled public choral performances (such as winter and spring concerts) and school assemblies.
• Collaborate with building administrators to schedule concert venues, coordinate rehearsal times, and manage performance logistics.
• Oversee stage setup, risers, acoustic shells, and accompaniment needs for all performances.
• Manage and maintain the choral sheet music library and equipment.
• Coordinate with accompanists and technical staff to support choral events.
