The Middle School Boys Basketball Intramural Coach will be responsible for overseeing the intramural basketball program for middle school boys during the October - December season for the 2026-2027 School Year at Harrison K-8 School. This is a one-year contract position. The coach is expected to develop good rapport with various individuals and community groups, maintain high levels of cooperation with school staff and administration, and embody leadership qualities such as diligence, enthusiasm, integrity, and honesty. A strong emphasis will be placed on discipline, sportsmanship, and fostering a positive attitude towards winning and losing. The coach must also be committed to self-improvement through professional development and staying current with coaching techniques and best practices. Responsibilities include running well-organized practices, implementing injury prevention strategies, developing game plans, managing equipment, and maintaining clear communication with assistant coaches and volunteers. The coach will promote ethical and fair play, teach sport-specific skills, monitor behavior and academic performance, and contribute to the overall development of the student-athletes. Additionally, the coach is expected to represent the school and district positively, maintain facilities, and cooperate with faculty, staff, and other athletic programs.
