Middle School Bible Teacher
About The Position
The Middle School Bible Teacher is responsible for providing Christ-centered, biblically grounded instruction to students in grades 6–8 while fostering spiritual growth, academic engagement, and Christian character development. The teacher will create a learning environment that encourages students to deepen their understanding of Scripture, develop a biblical worldview, and cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Middle School Bible Teacher is expected to integrate faith into all aspects of teaching and discipleship while partnering with parents, faculty, and administration to support the mission of the school. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Requirements
- Publicly profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a growing relationship with Christ
- Actively participate in a Bible-believing evangelical church (Reformed theology preferred but not required)
- Affirm and support the school’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith
- Model Christ-like character, integrity, humility, and servant leadership
- Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain a lifestyle that reflects biblical principles and Christian testimony
- Bachelor’s degree in Bible, Theology, Christian Education, Education, or related field required
- Strong knowledge of Scripture and biblical doctrine (Reformed Theology preferred)
- Ability to communicate biblical truth clearly and effectively to adolescents
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to integrate faith and learning across all aspects of instruction
- Proficiency with educational technology and classroom management systems
- A passion for Christian education and student discipleship
- Love for middle school students and understanding of adolescent development
- Emotional maturity, patience, and relational warmth
- Flexibility, initiative, and teamwork
- Commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, spiritual formation, education of the whole child and academic excellence
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification preferred
- Previous teaching experience with middle school students preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach Bible courses for middle school students (grades 6–8)
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with school curriculum standards and biblical truth
- Teach Scripture with Reformed theological accuracy and practical application
- Help students develop a biblical worldview and apply biblical principles to daily life
- Incorporate prayer, worship, discipleship, and spiritual formation into classroom instruction
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technology to support student learning
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, discussions, quizzes, and exams
- Maintain accurate grades, records, and lesson plans
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment
- Promote spiritual, emotional, academic, and social growth among students
- Encourage student participation, critical thinking, and respectful discussion
- Maintain appropriate classroom discipline consistent with school policies and biblical principles
- Serve as a mentor and spiritual role model for students
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school initiatives and student success
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Partner with families in the spiritual and academic development of students
- Participate in chapel services, spiritual emphasis activities, retreats, and other school ministries
- Support extracurricular activities and school programs as assigned
- Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude within the school community
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
