About The Position
The Dedham Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 Middle School Band Director/Music Teacher. This position is eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- Must hold state licensure in music, through MA DESE
- Experience teaching instrumental, general music, and music production preferably at the middle school level.
Responsibilities
- Teach all levels of Band and additional general music classes, as needed.
- Attend concerts and performances as needed throughout the year.
- Register and prepare students/ensembles for auditions and festivals as needed.
- Work with Performing Arts colleagues to align curriculum and lessons to established school and district objectives.
- Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
