About The Position

The Middle School Athletic Director is a stipend position responsible for the overall management of middle school athletic competitions and programs. This role involves ensuring a positive and safe experience for student-athletes, coaches, families, and community members, while fostering a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, and excellence. The Athletic Director will serve as a key administrator, overseeing game management, eligibility, coaching staff, and community relations for the Hemlock Public School District.

  • Commitment to student growth, character development, and educational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of MHSAA rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator responsible for game and event management for all middle athletic competitions.
  • Oversight of Final Forms ensuring effective communication between coaches, students and families.
  • Oversight of athletic eligibility for middle school student-athletes.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, support, supervise, and evaluate middle school coaching staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, coaches, boosters, community partners, conference representatives, officials, and local organizations while serving as a positive ambassador for Hemlock Public School District.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, world-class experience for student-athletes, families, visiting schools, officials, senior citizens, and community members at all athletic events and activities.
  • Promote broad student participation, sportsmanship, leadership development, and positive educational experiences that place students at the center of every decision.
  • Support district initiatives and perform additional administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Benefits

  • Stipend position ranging from $2,500 - $4,000 based on experience
