The assistant principal provides support for both supervisory and administrative functions. This role is crucial in supporting the building principal in developing teaching and learning, coordinating curriculum, and providing instructional support. The assistant principal will also nurture, lead, and instruct children from diverse backgrounds, address student behavior issues using restorative practices, and assist with building security protocols. Collaboration with staff, parents, and community partners is key to supporting students academically, behaviorally, and socially-emotionally. This position also involves managing student attendance and truancy, mentoring and evaluating staff, and leading professional learning. A significant responsibility includes directly managing district-wide special education operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing resource allocation, and providing instructional leadership to improve outcomes for exceptional learners. The assistant principal will also serve as a District Designee for IEP Meetings and MDR’s.
