About The Position

This position involves promoting sports within the schools and community, planning and organizing the assigned athletic program, and supervising practices. Key responsibilities include teaching individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy, and the rules and regulations of soccer. The coach is expected to teach good sportsmanship and self-control, check participant eligibility (including insurance coverage and parent consent), and serve as a proper role model, offering emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude, and general guidance to students. The role also requires conducting learning experiences with small groups of student athletes and recommending the purchase of appropriate equipment, supplies, and uniforms to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the student athletes. Related duties may also be assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE OF: Fundamentals of various sports.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Health and safety regulations.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
ABILITY TO: Assist coaches on one or more sports.
ABILITY TO: Understand and follow oral and written directions.
ABILITY TO: Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Certified Kentucky Department of Education certification.
Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check(s) as specified by Kentucky State Law.
Must meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy.
Classified High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Responsibilities

Promote sports in the schools and community.
