About The Position

The Middle School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing various aspects of the Girls Basketball Program. This role involves supporting the head coach in team management, including athlete recruitment, practice coordination, academic progress monitoring, and competition preparation. The coach will utilize diverse instructional techniques to enhance player abilities and will be involved in assessing player skills, assigning positions, and developing game strategies.

Requirements

• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Must possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
• Satisfactory completion of the interview process.
• Verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
• Satisfactory completion of a state and federal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a coach is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with overall team management, including recruitment of student athletes, coordination of practices, monitoring academic progress and preparing the team for competition.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in girls basketball.
• Assess players’ skills and assign team positions.
• Determine game strategy based on the team’s capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
