About The Position
This summer program is designed to support middle school students in grades 7 and 8 who have been identified through the course failure process and promotional guidelines. The program aims to help students achieve academic success over the summer, demonstrating competency in MESH subject areas and ensuring readiness for the following school year. 6th-grade students may be admitted if space is available. The program will run if a minimum of 20 students enroll.
Requirements
- Must hold a MA DESE teaching license.
- Preference will be given to those certified in a middle school content area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate a structured learning environment for daily instruction on MESH power standards.
- Teach 4 hours of daily instruction.
- Supervise students for 30 minutes daily.
- Complete 1 hour of daily prep time for 19 days (no prep on the last day).
- Attend a 1-hour prep meeting with the site coordinator prior to summer school.
