About The Position

The Broker is at the forefront of our Lockton Northeast Client Engagement strategy. They are directly responsible for the day-to-day servicing needs of Lockton Northeast Clients under the general guidance of the Philly-Metro Middle Market Leader (PMM Leader), Account Executive and/or Senior Client Manager. Overall responsibilities include marketing/placement/servicing of Property and Casualty lines of insurance and execution of day-to-day administrative and service needs. The Associate must become familiar with Lockton Northeast resources, policies & procedures and ensure overall compliance. The Broker will be a participant in the Lockton Northeast Career Advancement Program which is designed to provide technical and practical training supporting continued career progression. A high performing and successful Broker will deliver transactional excellence and provide great customer service.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience and/or insurance broking/consulting experience required
  • Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for this position, now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Supports PMM Leader, Account Executive or Senior Client Manager on complex Lockton Northeast clients
  • Owns the service delivery and renewal process on a designated book of business including but not limited to marketing, placement and overall service (under the oversight of the PMM Leader, Account Executive or Senior Client Manager)
  • Responds to Client’s inquiries, maintains documentation of communications, existing issues, and issue resolutions
  • Provides Client service aligned with Lockton Northeast processes and protocols and our overall Client Engagement strategy
  • Supports implementation of new lines of coverage by setting up account, collecting needed documentation, and reviewing program details with Client and Insurer. Engages senior level resources to support resolution where needed
  • Gathers and compiles exposure information from the Client Requests and collects quotes (new and renewal) from carriers. Prepares coverage and financial analysis to compare / review quotations. Has the ability to interpret and outline key coverage and financial terms
  • Audits quotes, binders, and endorsements and makes requests for changes as needed
  • Broker is able to lead meetings with client independently by delivering content in a clear and concise manner. A Broker is prepared, has thought through the obstacles and issues, has consulted with underwriter prior and has brought PMM Leader, Account Executive or Senior Client Manager up to speed on key issues prior; is able to deliver solutions for identified problems or issues
  • Overseas analyst in regards to policy checking and endorsement activity
  • Updates specifications, application, and summary information to reflect changes during the year
  • Builds coverage specifications independently based on their assessment of client coverage needs
  • Informs Client of any and all changes that may affect insurance premiums or coverage
  • Gathers and compiles information for new business opportunities and generates materials for Client presentations and meetings
  • Creates and sends compliance communications as needed
  • Leverages analytics to support program design, negotiation and Client decision making
  • Conducts complex contract review
  • Resolves accounting issues in support with analysts
  • Engages in and participates in special projects to support Northeast strategic priorities
  • Understands and leverages Lockton resources at the center of the company
  • Researches industry trends and governmental regulations
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed
