About The Position

This role involves coaching girls volleyball for students in grades 1-4 and 5-8. The coach will be responsible for guiding student-athletes in strategy, skills, and rules of the game, while fostering sportsmanship and optimal performance. The position requires adherence to school policies, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.

Requirements

High School degree
Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience

Responsibilities

Coach girls volleyball for grades 1-4 and 5-8
Availability for late afternoon or early evening practices, typically two-three days per week 3:30pm-5pm Monday-Friday and games one-two days per week, typically between 5:30pm-8:30pm Monday-Thursday.
Supports and upholds the mission and values of the International School of Texas
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Models professional conduct and sportsmanship while instilling these characteristics within team members
Schedules practices in consultation with the Athletic Director
Monitors physical condition and fitness of participants and reports injuries to parents and school officials
Continually monitors and supervises all activities of the participants at all practices and competitions
Follows school policies regarding safety guidelines
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Able to instruct athletes about proper strategy, skills, and rules of the game
Able to motivate student-athletes to perform optimally as an individual athlete and team member
Uses approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct
Required to lift or carry athletic equipment and supplies
Required to maintain composure
