About The Position

The Middle & Lower School Flag-Football Coach will be responsible for coaching flag-football teams for grades 1-4 and 5-8. This role requires availability for late afternoon or early evening practices and games from August to November. The coach will support and uphold the mission and values of the International School of Texas, maintain confidentiality, and model professional conduct and sportsmanship.

Requirements

High School degree
Previous football/flag-football coaching or playing experience
Availability for late afternoon or early evening practices and games August - November
Practice times typically 3:30pm-5pm for two-four days per week Monday-Friday
Game times typically between 5:30pm-7:30pm once per week per team Monday-Thursday

Responsibilities

Coach flag-football teams for grades 1-4 and 5-8
Support and uphold the mission and values of the International School of Texas
Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters
Model professional conduct and sportsmanship while instilling these characteristics within team members
Schedule practices in consultation with the Athletic Director
Monitor physical condition and fitness of participants and report injuries to parents and school officials
Continually monitor and supervise all activities of the participants at all practices and competitions
Follow school policies regarding safety guidelines
Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Instruct athletes about proper strategy, skills, and rules of the game
Motivate student-athletes to perform optimally as an individual athlete and team member
Use approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct
