About The Position

This role involves coaching flag-football teams for grades 1-4 and 5-8 at the International School of Texas. The coach will be responsible for practices and games during the season, upholding the school's mission and values, and ensuring the safety and development of student-athletes.

Requirements

High School degree
Previous football/flag-football coaching or playing experience

Responsibilities

Coach flag-football teams for grades 1-4 and 5-8
Availability for late afternoon or early evening practices and games August - November
Practice times typically 3:30pm-5pm for two-four days per week Monday-Friday. Game times typically between 5:30pm-7:30pm once per week per team Monday-Thursday.
Supports and upholds the mission and values of the International School of Texas
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Models professional conduct and sportsmanship while instilling these characteristics within team members
Schedules practices in consultation with the Athletic Director
Monitors physical condition and fitness of participants and reports injuries to parents and school officials
Continually monitors and supervises all activities of the participants at all practices and competitions
Follows school policies regarding safety guidelines
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Able to instruct athletes about proper strategy, skills, and rules of the game
Able to motivate student-athletes to perform optimally as an individual athlete and team member
Uses approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct
Required to lift or carry athletic equipment and supplies
Required to maintain composure
