About The Position

Vega Federal Solutions is hiring a Mid-Level Systems Engineer for a national security software program in Richardson, Texas. The role defines, models, and verifies requirements and works within an Agile, multidisciplinary engineering team. The engineer uses model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to turn requirements into well-designed, traceable features throughout the Systems Engineering V lifecycle. This is a direct-hire, full-time position. Relocation assistance is provided, and an active TS/SCI clearance is required at the start.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance at the start.
• Security+ or CISSP certification.
• Experience with Agile execution and feature development.
• Experience with requirements development, tracing, and verification mapping.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering V.
• Software design experience.
• MBSE experience, including Cameo.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team and multidisciplinary environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building and updating a system model.
• Systems engineering experience with Product Owner or leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and GitLab.
• Experience using AI tools and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute Agile feature development, including requirements development, tracing, and verification mapping.
• Apply the Systems Engineering V across the lifecycle, from requirements through verification.
• Contribute to software design with software and DevOps engineers.
• Build and maintain system models in MBSE tools, including Cameo.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other disciplines to deliver features.
• Communicate designs, trade-offs, and status clearly, both in writing and verbally.
