About The Position

OASYS, INC. is seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to support an ARMY customer onsite at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. The role involves working with a diverse team to monitor, update, and support a digital simulation lab that serves as an independent test platform for the THAAD weapons system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux, networking, and security, with configuration management knowledge being a plus. Responsibilities include performing firmware and software updates, network configurations, standing up new systems, installing and maintaining system hardware and software on multiple Linux platforms (RHEL 7-10), configuring and maintaining network switches, providing user support, conducting cybersecurity scans, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts on classified systems with multi-factor authentication, performing system backups and restores, developing Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) for DISA STIG deviations, automating Operating System builds using tools like Ansible, and populating DISA STIG checklists and using DISA STIG tools and documents, including Evaluate-STIG software for vulnerability scanning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a highly related technical field. Years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience with sensor and/or system-level data analysis.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Linux systems administration experience.
  • Classified lab networking and hardware knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, customer focused work environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Previous networks experience.
  • Linux+ and Security+ certifications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with a configuration management focus is a plus.
  • Previous experience in configuration management and automated Operating System build.
  • Strong Cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Ansible is also a plus.
  • An Active Secret Clearance is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, update, and support a digital simulation lab.
  • Perform firmware updates, software updates, network configurations, and standing up new systems.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software on multiple Linux platforms to include RHEL 7-10.
  • Network switch configuration and maintenance.
  • Provide support for systems and users.
  • Complete cybersecurity scans for the lab systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts on classified systems using multi-factor authentication.
  • Performing system backups and restores.
  • Develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements.
  • Automate Operating System builds (Ansible).
  • Populate DISA STIG checklists.
  • Use DISA STIG tools and documents.
  • Use Evaluate-STIG software for vulnerability scanning.
